COG Clients Awarded CDBG/Small-Cities Funding8/14/2014
COG is pleased to announce that six of its clients have received funding from the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development through the FY 2014 Community Development Fund program. Additionally, seven clients have received funding from the Connecticut Department of Housing through the FY 2014 Small Cities CDBG program.
COG prepared applications for each of the Massachusetts towns: Rockland, Templeton and Hubbardston (joint application), Abington and Whitman (joint application), and Webster, securing over $3.2 million of an available $27.5 million for these communities. In total, 54 communities state wide received grants.
The State of Connecticut awarded COG clients Hampton, Brooklyn, Chaplin, Scotland, Pomfret, and Eastford (joint application), and Stafford, grant funds totaling $800,000 of an available $12.8 million.
The grants will cover activities such as housing rehabilitation, infrastructure improvements, commercial property upgrades, and public social services. Following are the award details:
